MB4 Questions


Can MB4 make compost or fertilizer?

No. MB4 dries and grinds food waste into dry grounds. It reduces waste volume and eliminates odors, but does not create compost. For compost/soil amendment, choose MB12.

How often should I change the carbon filter?

Every 3 months with regular use. Replacement filters available [here].

Is MB4 quiet?

Yes. MB4 operates at 38dB—quieter than a normal conversation.

Can I put MB4 on my countertop?

Yes. MB4's compact design fits most kitchen counters.

How long does MB12 take to make soil amendment?

48+ hours depending on waste type and ambient temperature.

Do I need to buy microbes/fermentation starter?

MB12 comes with initial starter. Replacement FPS (Fermentation Powder System) available [here].

Can MB12 handle garden waste?

MB12 handles most food waste. For large garden waste, traditional composting may be better.
